Kimberbell: Hearts in Bloom Table Runner - Appliqué of the Month

 

Hearts in Bloom is the Kimberbell Appliqué of the Month project for January. This sweet table runner is perfect for display in February.  I had so much fun stitching out this design twice so it would be on the both edges of the table runner.

 

Kimberbell Appliqué of the Month is a new monthly subscription to create a 12"x 36" table runner each month OR use the design for any project! There are 2 subscription options available: Doorstep (I subscribe to this one) or Digital. 

The doorstep option ($24/month+shipping) comes with an applique design (in two sizes), an embroiderable blank, full-color instructions, and the fabric and embellishments you need to make a 12 x 36" table runner every month. (There are limited quantities, so sign up now while you can!)

The digital option ($10/month) comes with the digital files and PDF instructions, which you can use on a blank of your choice!

Spooky Fun Table Runner with Sulky - Free Pattern

Hi Quilty Friends! Today I'm sharing the Spooky Fun Table Runner. It's the perfect pattern to make for Halloween! Plus it is a FREE Pattern available at Sulky HERE. 

The Spooky Fun Table Runner is quick to make and the blocks are so fun to sew! The table runner is perfect for showing off your favorite fabric print as the alternating blocks are a square - perfect for fussy cutting! The adorable Spooky Hollow Fabric designed by Melissa Mortensen for Riley Blake Designs (here) is perfect for this pattern!

I used the fabulous Sulky 50wt Cotton Thread for piecing the Spooky Fun Table Runner and machine quilting! Sulky 50wt Cotton Thread is strong so no breakage when free motion quilting plus still thin to prevent bulky seams for piecing - it's the perfect combination! Zinnias in Bloom Projects

Zinnias in Bloom Collection by Sue Zipkin for Clothworks is available at your local quilt shop PLUS I found it on Amazon -here!

I wanted to share all the amazing projects I made with this absolutely gorgeous fabric! The prints are lovely and the bright colors are so happy! I love the Zinnias in Bloom fabric! Time for sharing all my projects!

Zinnias in Bloom Table Runner

My first project was my Zinnias in Bloom Table Runner using my Twinkle Quilt Pattern! To create the summery table runner - I made (3) Twinkle Blocks and used 2" sashing to lengthen the project! I absolutely love it! My Twinkle Quilt Blocks were perfect as the large center square is perfect for showing off the gorgeous fabric!!!

Guess what - I love being thrifty with my fabric so I used my left overs to make a scrappy backing - yay!!! It's totally reversible now!

Zinnias in Bloom Large Zippered Bag

When I received the Zinnias in Bloom border print - I knew it make the perfect large zippered bag! The panel is absolutely stunning and perfect for this bag! This bag is HUGE - about 18" x 22"!!! I love how it holds sooooo much and shows the beautiful border print!

 

I love the large floral print near the selvage and then the open white center with tiny butterflies and florals. Absolutely stunning!

 

I used American Made Brand Solid for the lining- I love the pop of color! I made this larger zippered bag just like a zipper pouch, but added handles! I'll try to make a tutorial next time I sew another one! They are super fun to make!

When my daughter saw the Monarch Butterly print - she requested a large zipper pouch. So of course, I had to sew one! The detail in this print is gorgeous! 

I love to sew zipper pouches! They are such a quick project to sew and so useful! I don't think you can every have too many :)

I absolutely loved sewing with Zinnias in Bloom! The fabrics are gorgeous and made me so happy to sew with! I just love a happy fabric!!!

Farm to Garden Table Runner

Hi Quilty Friends! Today I'm finally sharing my Farm to Garden table runner! I've had mine finished for a few months and have been enjoying it on my dining table, but forgot to share my blog post - oops! 

I absolutely love Garden Variety fabric collection by Lella Boutique for Moda -okay - I love all of her fabric designs! The colors, sweet florals, and bees are perfect for spring!

I used the Farm to Garden Quilt Kit from Fat Quarter Shop - but instead of making a wall quilt - I chose to make table runner. I LOVE a table runner with flowers on my table! 

Let's chat how I made my Farm to Garden Table Runner  - finished size 14.5" x 52.5"

Supplies:

• Farm to Garden Quilt Kit at Fat Quarter Shop - contains  One Garden Variety Charm Pack, 0.875 yards border and background - 9900-200, 0.375 yards binding - 5070-12 *I used this as the outer border instead of binding* , Mini Cupcake Mix Pad #2
• Binding: Garden Variety Navy Candy Stripe Yardage: 1/2 yard
• Hobbs Batting
• Aurifil Thread - white

Let's start sewing!

1. Sew (6) Farm to Garden blocks.
2. Sew blocks together to create (1) row.
3. Cut (3) 2" x WOF from background fabric to make 1st border around blocks. Piece together and attach around blocks.
4. Cut (3) 2.5" x WOF from Navy floral fabric for outer border. Piece together and attach around table runner.
5. Quilt and bind as desired.

I used my left over charm squares and background fabric to create a fun pieced backing. I actually love it so much - I'm thinking I will write it into a quilt pattern! Plus now my Farm to Garden Table Runner is reversible - yay!

Farm to Garden Kits are still available at Fat Quarter Shop and come with all the fabric you need (except I purchased extra fabric as I LOVE a striped binding) to create this fun project! Of course- it looks awesome as a wall quilt too!
