Uptown Florist Mini Quilt/Pillow with Hello Lovely Fabric

I am in LOVE with the new Hello Lovely fabric by Amanda Herring! The flowers, prints, and colors just make me soooooo happy! When Melanie from Hello Melly Designs emailed me a sneak peek and chance to test her new Uptown Florist Pattern-I knew the Hello Lovely Fabric would be a perfect fit!

I also discovered a lovely stitch on my Janome 9400- which quilts little scallops! I love it! A close up...

For my backing - I added a zipper as I like the flexibility of either a pillow or mini quilt!

Supplies:

I really enjoy sewing Melanie's (Hello Melly Designs) patterns. They are very clear to follow and always turn out so cute! To create my 18" mini quilt/pillow- I sewed one block and added borders. It's the perfect size! I'm just trying to decide....mini quilt or pillow ;) !!!

I have another fun project coming this Friday! It is the start for the Friendship Quilt Along with Amanda Herring and Riley Blake Designs!!! I can't wait!!!

Have a great day and happy sewing!

Clementine Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop and Moda - Month 5

Welcome to Month Five of the Clementine Quilt Along Fundraiser with Fat Quarter Shop! I love that Fat Quarter Shop and Moda Fabrics have partnered together to match donations up $20,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

My fabrics
I choose my favorite Bonnie & Camille Aqua Fabrics to make my Clementine Quilt monochromatic. I am loving monochromatic projects right now!

Making the Blocks:

Tip-
I chose to cut my A and D squares to 2.5" (small block) and 3.5" (large block). This allowed me to trim my half square triangles to size. I love my Bloc-loc ruler for this!

Maxie Mail Subscription Box - April

I just finished sewing my April Maxie Mail box projects!!! I love how each box is a "full class in a box"....this month is all about Tube Method Sewing- which is basically magic sewing! I even made a few bonus projects from the video with extra fabric!

The April box contains: Two Pillowcase kits, Splash Olfa rotary cutter, Thread, Pattern, Video, and goodies. It has EVERYTHING you need to complete two matching pillowcases!

Let's get sewing.

I highly recommend watching Maxie's video on Tube Method Sewing...even if you have sewn this method before. She has great cutting tips plus adorable bonus projects!!! I've already made my daughter the skirt...more on that in a bit ;).

A closer look at the gorgeous Peppermint Rose fabric by Verna Mosquera and Free Spirit Fabrics- just about ready to cut. I love a beautiful border print...they create such fabulous projects!

Time to get rolling.....seriously...it is magic sewing.

After sewing just a few seams...you will have two matching pillowcases with finished seams- no raw edges here!

The Peppermint Rose border print is amazing! I love how all three fabrics complement each other!!!

Ready for some fun BONUS projects. Maxie has extra fabric and/or kits available here.

Poolside Tote with ADORNit fabric

I am loving my new summer bag!!! I have been wanting to sew myself a Poolside Tote for awhile so I thought it would be the perfect first project to sew on my new Janome sewing machine...which I love :).

The ADORNit Jumbo Stripe fabric is my absolute favorite striped fabric...it's perfect! I love it for this tote! It was fun to change the directions of the stripes for the zipper and facing. This bag is HUGE...so it will be perfect for the lake and pool!

Supplies:
ADORNit Flamingo Fever Jumbo Stripe - 2 yards
ADORNit BeBop Dot Gray - 2 yards (it is on sale too)
Poolside Tote Pattern by Noodlehead
PS- there is an ADORNit coupon code at the end of this post ;).
