Flea Market Quilt Along AND Stitch Along

I'm joining in the year long Flea Market Quilt Along AND Stitch Along with Fat Quarter Shop. I always love a matching quilt and cross stitch piece! Just look how gorgeous the finished pieces are!!!!

You may have realized I do like to make a few changes to the projects when I'm quilting and stitching along because it's fun to make the project a bit different :).

Flea Market Quilt Along

I'm going to make my Flea Market Quilt as designed in the Flea Market book, but with fabric changes. I'm going to choose my favorite prints from Stitch and Flea Market plus a few favorites from Granny Chic and Prim too! I love how all of Lori Holt's fabric collections coordinate so well together!

Supplies:

My Flea Market Star Block

I absolutely loved making this large Flea Market Star Block....it would make a gorgeous quilt if you made multiples of this block! I kept the same colors as in the Flea Market Book, but changed a few of the prints to my favorites.

I'm excited to start making the tiny little churn dash blocks for next month!

Flea Market Stitch Along

I'm also joining in for the coordinating Flea Market Stitch Along too -yay! The cross stitch pattern coordinates perfectly with the quilt and is a year long project too! I prefer smaller cross stitch pieces for decor so I'm going to stitch up sections separately!  Here's a peek so far!

Double Sided Zipper Pouch - Sewers Club

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SewersClub #ZipperPouch

Today I'm sharing the Double Sided Zipper Pouch, which is the Sewers Club December project! This project is soooo cool ... it is 2 zippered pouches in 1! Both sides of the pouch has a zipper and is fully enclosed so you can store different items on each side of the pouch - brilliant!

Photographing a double sided pouch is tricky - but below you can see the two zippers on each side of the pouch.

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SewersClub #ZipperPouch

All of the supplies you need to make the Double Sided Zipper Pouch are included in the Sewers Club Box - including an awesome instructional video! I highly recommend watching the video before starting your project as it is full of helpful tips! I like to watch the video and sew along - it's easy to pause and rewind/rewatch a step if needed!

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SewersClub #ZipperPouch

Let's take a look at the Sewers Club - December Box Box Contents:

  • (2) Cuts of Alpine Winter Fabric designed by Deborah Edwards for Northcott
  • Fusible Fleece
  • (2) Zippers with the CUTEST snowflake zipper pulls
  • Bonus Fat Quarter - designed my Material Girl
  • Gutterman Sew-All Thread
  • Double Sided Zipper Pouch Pattern PLUS full instructional video
Optional Add-on Notion
  • The Gypsy Quilter - Nailed it Open Thimbles
A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SewersClub #ZipperPouch

I love that Sewers Club includes (2) equal cuts of the Alpine Winter Fabric in your box so you can personalize your zipper pouch! Choose your favorite print for the outside and the coordinating print for the pouch interior.

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SewersClub #ZipperPouch

I absolutely LOVE the quality of Sewers Club zippers. The zippers are actually nylon, but look like metal. This means you can easily sew OVER the zipper without damaging your machine - yay! This month Snowflake Zipper Pull is so fabulous! I'm definitely going to need to order more!

Sewers Club has updated their website so you can now purchase previous patterns and many of the fabrics that were in previous boxes - yay!

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SewersClub #ZipperPouch

Have you made your Double Sided Zipper Pouch yet??? You will love it!  Just grab your box, watch the included instructional video, and start sewing! In one afternoon or evening - your project will be finished!

Below is little video showing the zippers on both sides of the pouch!

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SallieTomato #CircleBag

It might be cold and snowy outside, but sewing the Circle Bag pattern by Sallie Tomato with the fabulous Luau cork fabric made my sewing room feeling like I'm on a summer island vacation :).  I really love sewing with Sallie Tomato cork fabric because the quality is fabulous!

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #SallieTomato #CircleBag

All of the supplies I used to sew my Luau Circle Bag, I purchased at Sallie Tomato (here).  The Circle Bag Pattern is a FREE pattern that includes a free instructional video too!

Circle Bag Supplies - available at Sallie Tomato (here)
The Circle Bag pattern and hardware kit includes a tassel cap. Just use a Luau cork fabric scrap to make your tassel.
Tassels are soooooo easy to make and look so fabulous! I love the added detail!
