Heartfelt Quilt & Stitch Along - Release 4: Sweetheart Block

It is time for the fourth release for the Heartfelt Quilt and Stitch Along!!! We are making five of the Darling Blocks. 

 OVER $80,000 has already been raised for Make-A-Wish, which is amazing!  Fat Quarter Shop has released a bonus Heartfelt Table Runner AND Quilt pattern to celebrate (here) !!!!

As I'm making my Heartfelt Quilt with One Fine Day fabric, I was able to mix and match fabrics until I found my favorite combos! I'm totally smitten with this fabric! 

Look how sweet the block looks on my Daisy Bee's Knees Bookstand. I love how it is metal so I can use magnets to hold my block!

Again this month - I save the trimmed off triangles from the bottom of the heart shape and sewed them together. I trimmed my bonus half-square triangles to 2.5" unfinished squares using my Bloc-loc ruler and the Kimberly Cuts rotating mat. Be sure to save your scraps!

Heartfelt Stitch Along Details

                                         

It is time for the fourth release for the Heartfelt Stitch Along!!! I was excited to stitch the sweet hearts plus stars! I began stitching with my color conversion to the Classic Colorworks Floss, but then decided to change it a bit as I wanted more color (less gray) in my stitching compared to the model. So I'm just choosing my colors per motif, but using the same Classic Colorworks flosses as I list below under supplies.

It is time for the second release for the Heartfelt Quilt and Stitch Along!!! We are making five of the Buttercup Blocks. 

 OVER $60,000 has already been raised for Make-A-Wish, which is amazing!  Fat Quarter Shop has released a bonus Heartfelt Table Runner AND Quilt pattern to celebrate (here) !!!!

As I'm making my Heartfelt Quilt with One Fine Day fabric, I was able to mix and match fabrics until I found my favorite combos! I'm totally smitten with this fabric! 

I made the top of my hearts with a matching pair of fabric ... it was not how the pattern was written, but I didn't want to unpick the seams after I finished the blocks and luckily I like it!

I save the trimmed off triangles from the bottom of the heart shape and sewed them together. I will need to trim the bonus half-square triangles to one size once I decide on the bonus project!

The tiny little nine patch block is from some extra squares I accidentally cut ... oops. But this cute little oops is going to make the cutest little pincushion!

Heartfelt Stitch Along Details

It is time for the first release for the Heartfelt Stitch Along!!! We will be stitching the outer border! Borders always make me a bit nervous because if I miscount - I will have to unpick and fix it - ick! So I decided to just stitch one border column first. Then when the second release is available, I will begin to stitch the hearts and make sure I didn't make a counting oops on the border.

I wasn't quite sure if the Tabby floss would have enough contrast with the white fabric, but I think it will be great as I didn't want it too dark.
