Heartfelt Quilt and Stitch Along - Release 1: Beloved

I'll chat about quilting first ...so if you are only a stitcher - just scroll a bit for the stitching information.

It is time for the first release for the Heartfelt Quilt and Stitch Along!!! Yay! We are making five of the Beloved Blocks. I love the hearts nestled in the star block!
PS- $40,000 has already been raised for Make-A-Wish, which is amazing!  Fat Quarter Shop is releasing a bonus Heartfelt Table Runner pattern to celebrate (here) !!!!

As I'm making my Heartfelt Quilt with One Fine Day fabric, I was able to mix and match fabrics until I found my favorite combos! I'm totally smitten with this fabric!

The tiny little nine patch block is from some extra squares I accidentally cut ... oops. But this cute little oops is going to make the cutest little pincushion!

It is time for the 9th Annual Charity Quilt with Fat Quarter Shop! The way the fundraiser works is that Fat Quarter Shop offers the Heartfelt patterns as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation of $5 each to our Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. Or feel free to make a larger, one-time donation of $50. No amount is too small and every bit counts. From February to September, we will publish a new pattern here on the blog on the 1st Friday of each month.

Heartfelt Stitch Along Details

It is time for the first release for the Heartfelt Stitch Along!!! We will be stitching the outer border! Borders always make me a bit nervous because if I miscount - I will have to unpick and fix it - ick! So I decided to just stitch one border column first. Then when the second release is available, I will begin to stitch the hearts and make sure I didn't make a counting oops on the border.

I wasn't quite sure if the Tabby floss would have enough contrast with the white fabric, but I think it will be great as I didn't want it too dark.

From February to August, Fat Quarter Shop will publish a new pattern here on the blog on the first Friday of each month.

Of course you can choose your own fabric and floss to make your Heartfelt Cross Stitch yours! I want mine to coordinate with my quilt so I'm using a different fabric and floss.

  1. Beautiful, beautiful - love your blocks! Love how you kept the same fabric as the star legs to surround the heart. This will be such a fun sew along (and stitch along).
