It is almost summer and the perfect time for an ice cream sundae! This Ice Cream Sundae is even better than real ice cream because ... it is zero calories,  will last more than a few minutes, is the cutest zipper pouch, and is a FREE pattern (download here). 

I collaborated with Sulky Threads in creating this brand-new Ice Cream Sundae Zipper Pouch and used their new Felty product!

• Create hand-stitched sprinkles on your Felty hot fudge with your favorite Sulky 12 wt cotton thread colors !
• Choose your fabric to match a favorite ice cream flavor. I love this sweet Strawberry Print (Quilt Fair Collection designed by Tasha Noel)
• For the cone - choose a neutral texture fabric print. 
• Machine quilt with a cross-hatch design to create a waffle cone texture

Mom Shelf Pillow - free pattern with Sulky

Hi Friends! Today I'm sharing a free pattern I wrote with Sulky - Mom Shelf Pillow! This project is perfect for an afternoon and is easy to customize!

The Mom Shelf Pillow project features patchwork piecing plus reverse appliqué technique. Don't worry if you are new to reverse appliqué - it is very easy.  Let's gather up the supplies needed!

Thread

• Cotton + Steel 50wt Cotton Thread by Sulky - bright white.  Pillow construction and machine reverse appliqué.
• OPTIONAL Sulky 12 wt Cotton Thread. Perfect for hand appliqué option.

Organ Needles

• Organ Topstitch 80/12 needle. I used this needle as I machine stitched with 50wt thread to construct my pillow.
• Organ Universal Needles - assorted sizes. This is a great pack if you want to use either 50wt or 12 wt Sulky thread in your machine.

Fabric

• 6"x9"felt rectangle -  Sulky FeltyTM
• 4"x 8 1/2"floral quilting cotton fabric - I used a Bonnie & Camille Print
• (8) 2 1/2"fabric squares -  I used Bonnie & Camille Prints
• 8"x 8 1/2"backing fabric - I used a Bonnie & Camille Print
• 9"length of trim
• 2 buttons
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing

The Mom Shelf Pillow Pattern includes the letters for M O M . I thought his sweet little pillow would be the perfect gift for your Mom this Mother's Day! Plus you could include a few of your favorite Sulky supplies ( thread, needles, Sulky KK 2000 spray, stabilizer, or a kit) with your Mom Shelf Pillow. 

Of course - you could choose a different word or even a shape! Just choose large block letters or shape as it will be easier to cut out! Just remember the word can't be too long as it needs to fit on the top rectangle shape. Word ideas: Dad, Love, Fun, Hi, Yay, Sew !

I decided to sew my Aurora Bag early because I'm going to be saying "hi" during the live event and I wanted share my bag. I LOVE it so much! The Iced Dyed fabric is gorgeous and I love the details - I think tassels might be a new favorite!

Hi Sewing Friends! Today I'm sharing my Sew Can She Organizer .... it's awesome! This darling organizer has TWO vinyl zipper pockets on the inside to hold all of your sewing/stitching supplies. I LOVE it!

I love the vinyl pockets because I can see my supplies so easily! I was careful when cutting the white crochet hook fabric so the hooks would line up straight when sewn. It was definitely worth taking the extra time so the interior would look nice.

I used the fabulous Sulky 50wt Cotton Thread for piecing the Spooky Fun Table Runner and machine quilting!
