Hi Sewing Friends! Today I'm going to be chatting about the November Sewers Club Box. I LOVE this month's project. The happy lemon Double Foldable Oven Mitt is both useful and adorable! It will definitely brighten your kitchen!

I even made a zipper pouch with the fabric scraps too! Yay for a bonus project with scraps!

All of the supplies you need to make the Double Foldable Oven Mitt are included in the Sewers Club Box - including an awesome instructional video! I highly recommend watching the video before starting your project as it is full of helpful tips! I like to watch the video and sew along - it's easy to pause and rewind/rewatch a step if needed!

I really like that Sewers Club includes (3) equal cuts of Lemonade fabric in your box so you can personalize your oven mitt! Did I mention I looooooove this fabric so much?!?!!!!

Be sure to read the pattern BEFORE starting your oven mitt. I didn't do this so I needed to add biding to my mitt to cover the start/stops on my quilting...oops! Luckily, there was extra fabric so I could do this!

Sewers Club has updated their website so you can now purchase previous patterns and many of the fabrics that were in previous boxes - yay! The Double Foldable Oven Mitt would make a fabulous Christmas gift! Extra Lemonade fabric available HERE.

My Bonus Zipper Pouch

I really liked the Lemonade fabric --- it's so cheerful so I wanted to make a bonus project with the scraps. I did add ric-rack, zipper, and fusible fleece from my stash.

I did not use a pattern for the Zipper Pouch, but based the measurements on the sizes of my fabric scraps. My finished pouch measures 9" x 7.5"

I do have a free zipper pouch pattern HERE (you could adapt the pattern to fit your fabric scraps).

Did you make the Double Foldable Oven Mitt for yourself or a gift? I just love learning a new sewing technique each month plus I have a new project to enjoy or gift!!!

Layered Cake Quilt - Shine Bright Edition

Hi Quilty Friends! I'm excited to finally share my Layered Cake Quilt - Shine Bright edition! This quilt has been busy traveling with Clothworks as it was at Spring Quilt Market and then a quilt shop sample, but now it's back home and my unicorn loving daughter is soooo happy!

You might notice this quilt already has the cuddle-wrinkle look ... as I needed to wash and dry the quilt prior to quilt photos due to some spilled milk when it arrived home.  It is loved all ready!

The Layered Cake Quilt pattern is one of my favorites to sew as it uses all (42) 10" squares and has no matching seams - yay!!!  When I saw the cute panels included in the Shine Bright Collection - I updated the original Layered Cake Pattern with a pieced center insert.

Charm Squares Quilt - Ocean Life

I love making baby quilts because it combines two of my favorites: babies and quilts!!! My sweet friend is expecting her first baby and she is decorating the nursery with a calm ocean theme. I knew my special Coral Queen of Sea fabric would be perfect!  Plus I was able to fussy cut mermaids and narwhals :).

Coral Queen of the Sea is out of print and I only had a little bit left so I mixed in some Reef prints. The combination was perfect for Elizabeth Hartman's Charm Squares Quilt Pattern. I love the modern and classic look of this quilt!

Charm Squares Quilt (Baby 33" x 40")

Supplies:

I didn't have 5" squares so I used my AccuQuilt Qube Mix 9" Finished Block - (GO! Square 5" die) to cut my fabric squares, which made cutting super quick!

Cut Time, Quilt More

I've already gifted this Charm Squares Quilt to my friend and I can't wait to meet her cute baby soon!

Do you have a favorite baby quilt pattern that you love?????

Happy Quilting!

Zinnias in Bloom Projects

Zinnias in Bloom Collection by Sue Zipkin for Clothworks is available at your local quilt shop PLUS I found it on Amazon -here!

I wanted to share all the amazing projects I made with this absolutely gorgeous fabric! The prints are lovely and the bright colors are so happy! I love the Zinnias in Bloom fabric! Time for sharing all my projects!

Zinnias in Bloom Table Runner

My first project was my Zinnias in Bloom Table Runner using my Twinkle Quilt Pattern! To create the summery table runner - I made (3) Twinkle Blocks and used 2" sashing to lengthen the project! I absolutely love it! My Twinkle Quilt Blocks were perfect as the large center square is perfect for showing off the gorgeous fabric!!!

Guess what - I love being thrifty with my fabric so I used my left overs to make a scrappy backing - yay!!! It's totally reversible now!

Supplies:

Zinnias in Bloom Large Zippered Bag

When I received the Zinnias in Bloom border print - I knew it make the perfect large zippered bag! The panel is absolutely stunning and perfect for this bag! This bag is HUGE - about 18" x 22"!!! I love how it holds sooooo much and shows the beautiful border print!

I used American Made Brand Solid for the lining- I love the pop of color! I made this larger zippered bag just like a zipper pouch, but added handles! I'll try to make a tutorial next time I sew another one! They are super fun to make!

Supplies:

  • Zinnias in Bloom Fabric Collection by Sue Zipkin for Clothworks
  • Zinnias in Bloom Border Print Panel
  • American Made Brand Solid
  • YKK handbag zipper - the larger zipper pull and tape is so nice for large bags!

  • Zinnias in Bloom Zipper Pouch

When my daughter saw the Monarch Butterly print - she requested a large zipper pouch. So of course, I had to sew one! The detail in this print is gorgeous!

I love to sew zipper pouches! They are such a quick project to sew and so useful! I don't think you can every have too many :)

    Supplies:
I absolutely loved sewing with Zinnias in Bloom! The fabrics are gorgeous and made me so happy to sew with! I just love a happy fabric!!!
