GO! Night Star Quilt - free pattern

 A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #Quilt #GONightStarQuilt #NightStarQuilt #AccuQuilt #RubyStarSociety #ModaFabrics #Janome

Hello Quilty friends! Today I'm sharing a FREE pattern I designed for AccuQuilt - the GO! Night Star Quilt Pattern (here).  I absolutely loved making this quilt! I used the brand new AccuQuilt GO! Setting Triangles 9" Die ... I definitely want all the sizes so I can make all the "on point" quilts without needing to do math ;).

By combining both GO! Qube 8" Mix & Match  AND the 8" Corners Companion set- we are able to make these perfect stars with a fun shoe-fly block as a secondary pattern.

I was able use the brand-new Stay Gold Collection designed by Melody Miller with Ruby Star Society for Moda Fabrics ... love it! The colors and prints are bright and bold - just so fabulous!

You may have noticed I used the GO! 8" Qube dies, but used the GO! 9" Setting Triangles ... that is because there is 1" sashing ... so the larger GO! 9" Setting Triangles are needed.  I share some fun little math facts in the FREE GO! Night Star Quilt Pattern ;)

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #Quilt #GONightStarQuilt #NightStarQuilt #AccuQuilt #RubyStarSociety #ModaFabrics #Janome

Usually, I avoid "on point" quilts because of the quilty math required for Corner and Side Setting Triangles, so I'm really excited about these BRAND NEW AccuQuilt GO! Dies! The GO! Setting Triangle Dies are available in 4", 6", 8", 9", 10", and 12" sizes (here) - yay!!!

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #Quilt #GONightStarQuilt #NightStarQuilt #AccuQuilt #RubyStarSociety #ModaFabrics #Janome

I chose to use (3) different border prints and I love it! I think the colorful borders make the quilt even more fun looking! Plus you can rotate the quilt so your favorite border is on the top or side or bottom.

If you want see my GO! Night Star Quilt "in person" check out the AccuQuilt Release Video for the new GO! Setting Triangles Dies.

I machine pieced and quilted the GO! Night Star Quilt on my Janome M7 sewing machine, which I LOVE! It pieces and quilts perfectly!

I took so many photos of my GO! Night Star Quilt as I'm totally smitten with it. I'm going to have to make another one because the original quilt is at AccuQuilt.

I really love the bright orange fabric for the binding - such a fun pop of color!

Let me know if you love making "on point" quilts! They take a bit more "brain power" when sewing, but I do love the finished quilt! The AccuQuilt GO! Setting Triangles will make it so much easier!

Back to the Basics: Table Runner - Sewers Club

Hello! Today I'm sharing the fabulous Back to the Basics: Table Runner I made with the May Sewers Club Box. This stylish table runner uses handmade and unique Batik fabric by Northcott. Did you know that Batik fabrics are handmade through a process of dyeing and stamping wax prints onto fabric!

Back to the Basics: Table Runner ~ 42" x 13"

All of the supplies you need to make the Back to the Basics: Table Runner  are included in the
Sewers Club Box - including an awesome instructional video! I highly recommend watching the video before starting your project as it is full of helpful tips! I like to watch the video and sew along - it's easy to pause and rewind/rewatch a step if needed!

Let's take a look at the Sewers Club - May Box

Box Contents:
  • (3) cuts of Banyan Batiks by Northcott
  • Gutermann Sew-All Thread
  • Assorted 100% Cotton Panel - Bonus item
  • Back to the Basics: Table Runner Pattern AND instructional video
  • Optional Add-on: Infiniti Sewing Scissors and Sewing Needles

I enjoyed sewing the Back to the Basics: Table Runner ... this pattern is a new favorite! It is the perfect evening project and looks lovely for your own home or to give as a gift. I will be making this pattern again.

I can't wait to see the project for the  June Sewers Club Box! I love learning new sewing techniques each month!

Layered Cake - Tiny Treaters Quilt

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #LayeredCakeQuilt #ABitofScrapStuffPattern #Quilt #RileyBlakeDesigns #HalloweenQuilt

Trick or Treat to the cutest Tiny Treaters! Tiny Treaters is the newest fabric collection designed by Jill Howarth for Riley Blake Designs - available HERE. This collection is full of adorable prints in fun colors plus a few prints glow in the dark - so fun!!

Originally,  I was going to make my Park Quilt with the Tiny Treaters Collection, but when the fabric arrived - I changed to Layered Cake Quilt! I just love all the prints together...no background fabric required!

A Bit of Scrap Stuff Blog #ABitofScrapStuff #LayeredCakeQuilt #ABitofScrapStuffPattern #Quilt #RileyBlakeDesigns #HalloweenQuilt

It was easy to make an adjustment to my Layered Cake Quilt Pattern by simply substituting the Border Print Row with Row 2.  I'll chat more about making the Layered Cake Quilt without the Border Print Row.

Fat Quarter Shop Quilting Fabric, Kits, Notions and Patterns

Let's gather up supplies to make the
Layered Cake Quilt - Tiny Treaters 54.5" x 68"

I machine quilt all of my quilts freehand on my Janome M7 (love this machine). The random meander is my favorite free motion quilting pattern - it's so relaxing to quilt and crinkles so nicely when washed. Seriously - look how cute these prints are!  Are you ready for Halloween quilting yet?!?!?

I used yardage to make my Layered Cake - Tiny Treaters Quilt so I had a  bit left over for a pieced backing. Using your left over fabrics is a great way to help manage your fabric stash plus it looks fabulous!
