Starlight Double Quilt - Sew Much Fun

 

Hi Quilty Friends! I’m excited share my Starlight Double Quilt featuring the SEW fabulous collection: Sew Much Fun designed by Echo Park Paper Co for Riley Blake Designs.  I love this bright and happy quilt!

I love all fun sewing themed prints in the Sew Much Fun collection - - - vintage sewing machines, vintage thread spools, scissors, plus fabulous florals!

I made the Starlight Double Quilt because I love the scrappy look plus I was able to use so many of the prints from the Sew Much Fun collection ... I love them all!

Plus I made a few of the inner stars scrappy too! This was perfect for fussy cutting the lighter color prints and choosing a bolder fabric for the inner star points.

The Starlight Double Quilt is a block based pattern so it's easy to make the quilt larger or smaller by making more or less blocks!

Half Square Triangle Tips:

For perfectly sized half-square triangles - I recommend trimming your blocks with a Bloc-loc half-square triangle ruler OR using the appropriately sized AccuQuilt Die. Having perfectly sized blocks makes piecing your quilt so much easier!

Scrappy Backing Fun -

As I used a half-yard bundle of Sew Much Fun to make my Starlight Double Quilt - I use the left over fabric to make a fun Scrappy Striped Backing. I LOVE it! The quilt is now reversible!!!!

Flea Market Starlight Double Quilt

Hi Quilty Friends! Today I'm sharing one of my most favorite quilts - Starlight Double Quilt with the fabulous Flea Market Fabric designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs! I chose my Starlight Double Quilt Pattern (available on Etsy or PayHip) because I could use soooooo many different Flea Market prints for a fun retro scrappy quilt! Just look at the gorgeous Flea Market Collection. The colors and prints are perfect happiness!

Starlight Double Quilt uses 18 fat quarters so you can have a scrappy quilt, which I love!

Starlight Double Quilt is a block based quilt pattern - so you can easily make your quilt larger or smaller by making more or less blocks! I love the flexibility!

One of my favorite background fabrics is the Pin Dot Collection by Lori Holt. Far away the fabric appears to be a solid white, but up close there is randomly printed little dots! LOVE it!

When I'm choosing binding fabrics - I love a plaid print as it always looks fantastic! I really love how this Flea Market blue plaid matches the floral Flea Market border fabric perfectly! Plus you can see a peek of the Bee Basics Yellow Stitched Flowers background fabric I used!

I'm thinking this might be one of my most favorite quilts of 2020! I love how it make me feel so happy! I LOVED making this quilt and I'm even more excited to use it now!

Janey is HERE

Hi Quilty Friends! I wanted to share that Janey is NOW available in quilt shops - hooray! I love Tanya Whelan designs and am so excited she is now designing for Clothworks! I absolutely love the prints and colors of Janey - it's so my girlish style! Check out the Janey collection HERE at Fat Quarter Shop or at Amazon.

I wanted to share all the projects I made with the Janey strike-offs I received from Clothworks before the fabric collection was released. Don't worry - I now have the yard bundle so lots more projects will be coming!

Starlight Double -

I made this super sweet scrappy Starlight Double block when I was testing the pattern - I LOVE it!. I just need to turn it into a pillow - it will be so fabulous! I really love the American Brand Solid- PINK that I used for the background! PS - Did you know American Brand Solids are MADE and GROWN in the USA- so awesome!

Zipper Pouch-

I used the left over half-square triangles from my Starlight Double block to make this awesome zipper pouch!  Since I totally love this fabric collection and couldn't toss any scraps- I used my left over scraps to make it double sided. Yay! Practical and economical!

Pouch pattern - Sorry no pattern as I made it according to my left over scraps. One day I will have to make a pattern :) 

Patchwork Pillow -

Sewing patchwork is one of my favorites! I find it relaxing and I love how all the squares match up so nicely! For this sweet pillow- I cut (36) 3.5" squares from Janey and assorted solids from American Made Brand and I absolutely love it! Patchwork makes me so happy! 

I think we need a close up of the simple straight-line quilting and fabrics too :)

Weebraw Bag -

I absolutely love this Weebraw Bag - large size. PS-I know I have said I absolutely love each of these Janey projects, but it is SO TRUE! 

The Weebraw bag is prefect for holding yarn, hand piecing, cross-stitch, or any treasures!

I took A LOT of photos because I used different bits of fabrics all over the bag - yay for scrappy!
