Today is all about Sharks, Surfers, and the Sea!!! I loved making my Park Quilt with the new Riptide Collection by Citrus and Mint for Riley Blake Designs. The prints are just too fun!!! I think describing fabric is the only time I would use the word FUN and SHARK in the same sentence!
I chose to make the Park Quilt Pattern as I was able to fussy cut the prints plus the quilt blocks show the fabric prints so nicely!
For my Park Quilt - Riptide, I wanted the quilt a bit smaller so I made 12 blocks instead of the original 16 blocks in the pattern. That is the great thing about block based quilt patterns - it's easy to make more or less blocks! Plus I had to add a border because those sharks and stingrays were FUN!
Ready to gather up your supplies so you can make your own Park Quilt.

I tried a new free motion loopy design for this quilt .... it reminds me of ocean swirls.
It's so rare for me to make a quilt without pink... so it was fun to only use blues/greens/gray. I really LOVE the Shabby Navy fabric for the quilt background - it has a great textured print, but is 100% quilting cotton.
I'll end this post with a SURFERS and SHARKS being happy together on a quilt ;)
