Woodland Wander Layered Cake Quilt

Hello! After I finished my Woodland Wander Chain of Stars Quilt, I just had to sew another quilt with Woodland Wander Fabric by Clothworks - it's seriously the cutest fabric of woodland critters! The Woodland Wander Collection includes this adorable panel - so it's perfect for my Layered Cake Pattern (on sale for $5).

I love sewing my Layered Cake Quilt Pattern - it's quick and shows off the gorgeous fabric prints! Since the blocks are off set - there are no seams to match! Plus it also uses all (42) 10" squares.

Supplies:
Layered Cake Quilt Pattern (sale $5)
(42) 10" Squares - I used Woodland Wander by Clothworks
(1) Woodland Wander Panel
0.5 yard for sashing of panel
0.625 yard for binding
3.5 yards of backing (4 yards of backing if you want animals upright)
Hobbs 80/20 Batting
Aurifil Thread - White

Let's Get Cutting:

1. Follow Layered Cake Quilt Pattern for cutting (42) 10" squares.


Cutting instructions for Woodland Wander Panel Squares substitution *replaces border print in pattern

2.  Cut (5) 9.5" squares from Woodland Wander Panel
3. Cut (6) 2" x 9.5" rectangles from sashing fabric
4. Cut (3) 2" x WOF from sashing fabric. Sew together. Then sub-cut into (2) 2" x 54.5" strips
5. Sew 2" x 9.5" AND 2" x 54.5" sashing strips to cut 9.5" panel squares as shown below.

6. Follow assembly instructions per Layered Cake Quilt Pattern.

For my quilt backing, I used my favorite print of all the woodland animals! It would also make the best and quick whole cloth quilt too! For the binding, I chose the sweet lilac and mint floral print -- it's gorgeous!!!
