Hi Quilty Friends! I’m excited to share my TwinkleQuilt featuring the newest fabric collection: Sweet Acres designed by Beverly McCullough.  Sweet Acres is a sweet collection of florals, farm life, stripes, and geometric prints in cheerful colors! Such a perfect collection for spring quilting! 

I absolutely love to fussy cut fabric prints when quilting! I love choosing a specific pattern such as cute barn animals or florals to be a focus for a quilt block. The fussy cut blocks add extra interest to your quilt and only takes a bit of extra time. When I'm fussy cutting fabric, my favorite tools are: Lori Holt Cute Cuts Trim it Rulers plus the Sue Daley Rotating Cutting mat (both products are produced by Riley Blake Designs)

• 1 yard* outer border: If you prefer to fussy cut the border - you will need 1.5 - 1.75 yards. Sweet Acres designed by Beverly McCullough
• 0.625 yard binding: Sweet Acres designed by Beverly McCullough
• 3.75 yards backing: Sparkler by Melissa Mortensen

Twinkle Quilt is a bit bigger than the Twinkle Pattern because I fussy cut my outer border strips a bit larger at 4.5" x WOF. Plus I love a perfect striped fabric for binding!!!!

Half-Square Triangle Tips

My two favorite methods for creating perfect half-square triangles for the Twinkle Quilt are: 

• AccuQuilt GO! Half-Square Triangle Die (my favorite as no trimming is needed) OR
• Bloc-loc Half-Square Triangle Ruler

Bountiful Quilt and Stitch Along

The first release of the Bountiful Charity Quilt and Stitch Along are available today! I'm so glad that I am able to quilt and stitch along with Fat Quarter Shop for the 10th Annual Charity Quilt!

 Fat Quarter Shop offers the Bountiful patterns (quilt and cross stitch) as FREE downloads during the event for a suggested donation to the Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas campaign. Bountiful Release One: Basket

This month we are making (2) 24.5" x 24."5 beautiful Basket Blocks. I love these large blocks! The little star block in the basket is the cutest!

• Tip: Take the time to cut your gingham fabric (for basket handle) straight with the printed gingham.

Bountiful Stitch Along Release One is the fabulous border. I haven't stitched my full border  yet as I wanted to start stitching the inside to make sure I counted the border correctly. As I'm using 20 count Aida, I don't want to unpick any counting oops stitching ;).

Norfolk Quilt - Block of the Month

 

I'm soooooo excited to start the Norfolk Quilt ... it is absolutely beautiful! I love this sampler style quilt in neutral fabrics.

The Norfolk Quilt is a block of the month program by Annie's Kit Club featuring Fleur Noire Fabric designed by My Mind's Eye for Riley Blake Designs.

Every 4 weeks, you will receive all the fabric required plus printed pattern to create 2-5 blocks. After 12 shipments, you will be able to complete the full quilt top plus binding. The Norfolk Quilt is going to be so fabulous!

AccuQuilt Mini Valentine Pillows

It will be Valentine's Day in few days so I wanted to share a cute and quick project that you can make in less than one hour.

How did I make these heart appliqués pillows WITH perfect decorative embroidery stitching in less than hour??? AccuQuilt came to the rescue with the GO! Queen of Hearts Die plus the coordinating GO! Queen of Hearts machine embroidery files by Marjorie Busby. Yes - I made my AccuQuilt GO! Cutting Machine do all the work for cutting perfect heart shapes and my Janome M550 stitched the decorate appliqué stitches. Teamwork :).  

These sweet little pillows are perfect to give to anyone that you love! Or make a few for yourself to enjoy and use them in your holiday decor.

The AccuQuilt GO! embroidery files include multiple decorate stitching options that stitch perfectly around the cut shapes making it so easy! I thought it would be fun to use a different decorate stitch for each pillow and a different trim (mini pom poms or ric rack)
