Dazzle Quilt - Quilt Fair

Hello Quilty Friends! I'm so so so excited to share my Dazzle Quilt with Quilt Fair - the newest collection designed by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake Designs. I was so happy that Tasha Noel released a new collection AND she will be releasing Pixie Noel 2 in 2022 -yay!!!

I designed the Dazzle Quilt pattern when I first saw the Quilt Fair fabric collection. I love all the illustrations with quilts, berries, florals, and gingham. Of course, I had to fussy cut the center square for each block!

I really enjoyed making the Dazzle Quilt! Sewing with cheerful fabric always makes me happy!!!

I loved choosing my favorite fabric combinations for each block.

The Dazzle Quilt Blocks are large, which is perfect for fussy cutting the center block and allowing your fabrics to shine. Plus you only have to make 9 blocks for a large 76.5" x 76.5"quilt!!!

Did you notice my oopsie??? I can't believe I didn't notice it while sewing the block, assembling quilt top, basting quilt, machine quilting, OR photographing?!?!? I just noticed the oopsie when I was writing the blog post. Well my Dazzle Quilt will be unique AND I still love it!!! 

Hint - it's a red half-square triangle that is rotated the wrong way in the bottom corner block (photo above)

I just love the Quilt Fair navy floral print for the outer border - it's gorgeous!!!

Summer's End by Figo Fabrics (top and bottom print) was a featured collection in Sewers Club a few months ago and I fell in LOVE with it. I ordered more plus the additional Prickly Pear (cream print) by Figo Fabrics to make a Gingham Plaid Quilt. It is going to be AMAZING! Vintage Boardwalk by Kimberbell

I'm definitely needing a new summer tote and the Vintage Boardwalk Collection by Kimberbell is sooooo perfect! The top print will be the bag exterior, red bicycles will be the bag handles and accent fabric, and the cute crabs will be the bag interior. This collection was also previously included in a monthly Sewers Club box and I looooved it!

I think I love notions as much as I love fabric as they are a "must" when sewing/quilting with fabric!

Zippers - HERE

I love purchasing zippers by the yard because I can cut the zipper to the desired length, which is perfect! Plus these zippers are fabulous because the zipper teeth look like metal, but are plastic so no broken sewing machine needles when you sew over the zipper teeth during bag assembly! Make sure your zipper by the yard and zipper pulls are the same size - both #3 or both #5.

Hardware kits - HERE

I love quality hardware kits and the ones by Sallie Tomato are so fabulous! Choosing quality hardware makes your handmade bags look professional and so much more functional.

Creative Grids Rulers - HERE

Creative Grids makes my FAVORITE rulers. They are accurate and don't slip as the backside grips to your fabric. I chose a "new to me" ruler - the Round Up Tool. I'm so excited to be able to round the corners on my projects without having to look for a random bowl to use as a template ;). I really like that Sewers Club includes (3) equal cuts of Lemonade fabric in your box so you can personalize your oven mitt! Did I mention I looooooove this fabric so much?!?!!!!

Be sure to read the pattern BEFORE starting your oven mitt. I didn't do this so I needed to add biding to my mitt to cover the start/stops on my quilting...oops! Luckily, there was extra fabric so I could do this!

My Bonus Zipper Pouch

I really liked the Lemonade fabric --- it's so cheerful so I wanted to make a bonus project with the scraps. I did add ric-rack, zipper, and fusible fleece from my stash. 

I did not use a pattern for the Zipper Pouch, but based the measurements on the sizes of my fabric scraps. My finished pouch measures 9" x 7.5"  

I do have a free zipper pouch pattern HERE (you could adapt the pattern to fit your fabric scraps).

Silo Barn Table Runner - Quilty Barn Sew Along

Howdy Friends! Today I'm sharing my Silo Barn Table Runner for the Quilty Barn Sew Along!  My project has a summer vibe and will be perfect under my Strawberry themed tiered tray next summer!  I can't decide if I like the Cherry or Strawberry Silo Barn the most...I love them both!

The Silo Barn Blocks, 6" blocks, and Silo Barn Table Runner Pattern are in the Farm Girl Vintage Book written by Lori Holt. The book includes many different block options so you can choose your favorite 6" blocks for your Silo Barns to match your decor!

Fun fact: The Strawberry 6" block has 44 pieces and Cherries 6" block has 31 pieces ... so tiny and cute!!!
