Snowflake Sparkle Friday Bundle Batch with Fort Worth Fabric Studio

I love these gorgeous metallic and sparkly fabrics in the Snowflake Sparkle Friday Bundle Batch with Fort Worth Fabric Studio. I just can't resist a sparkly fabric :) This bundle features stunning fabrics from Artisan Snowflake Batiks by Robert Kaufman.

I thought the Snowflake Sparkle fat quarter bundle would be perfect to make matching winter pillows! Once again, I used the Holiday Wishes book available at Fort Worth Fabric Studio for the snowflake and snowman patterns. By adding borders to the blocks I was able to make 18" pillows! You can make both pillows (backing included) with one fat quarter bundle.

Be sure keep reading if you want to make matching kitchen towels too!

Supplies for both pillows:

1. Snowflake Sparkle fat quarter bundle
2. Holiday Wishes Book
3. Scrap red, orange, and black fabric (from previous Friday Bundle Batches)
4. Buttons (for snowman eyes and mouth)
5. Aurifil thread
6. Batting if quilting pillow top
7. (2) 18" pillow forms

Snowflake Pillow 18" finished

1. Make (1) Snowflake block from the Let it Snow Pattern on pages 42- 46. Block will be 15.5" unfinished.
2. Cut border fabrics- I used a similar dark blue fat quarter from my bundle for the border as I didn't have enough of the blue fabric I used in the block.
(2) 2" x 15.5"
(2) 2" x 18.5"
3. Attach borders as shown below

4. Quilt, if desired
5. Finish using favorite pillow back method (Use left over fat quarters for backing).

Snowman Pillow 18" finished

2. Cut border fabrics- I used the same fabric as the snowman block background
(2) 2" x 15.5"
(2) 2" x 18.5"
3. Attach borders as shown below

4. Quilt, if desired

Little Red Table Runner with Fort Worth Fabric Studio

I LOVE this week's Friday Bundle at Fort Worth Fabric: Little Red! Isn't the bundle just gorgeous! I always love shimmery and glittery fabric!

When I saw the metallic fabric plus cardinals...I knew it would be the perfect table runner for my Grandparents (my Grandpa makes bird houses and they love watching birds in the yard)! I used another block from the Holiday Wishes Book. I love how versatile and easy to follow her patterns are! Check out the mini tutorial below! I even made a bonus project ;)

Supplies:
4. 1 yard backing fabric
Optional: Alphabitties are super helpful and make sewing this pattern a breeze.

Table Runner  size approximately 15.5" x 72"

Cutting and Sewing

1. Make 3 blocks of Midnight Clear Block of the Month- Block 5 on pages 72-73.  I chose this block to highlight the cardinal fabric. For each block- substitute red fabric instead of background for 8 (C) squares.

Middle Block

Left Block

Right Block
2.For each block- cut borders from chosen background fabric
(2) 2"x 12.5"
(2) 2" x15.5"

3. Sew borders on blocks. Each block should now measure 15.5" square (pictures above shows border)

4. Cut fabric for rectangles between blocks
A. Variety of Red Fabrics (4) 4.5" x 15.5"
B. Metallic linen (I used) or Vincent VanGoh Notes (6) 1.5" x 15.5"

5. Sew as shown below

6. Quilt and bind (I used the left over fabric to make a scrappy binding and chose to stipple my table runner.)

Bonus Project:
I sewed sixteen 2.5" squares together and made a matching hot pad! Because if you always need a matching hot pad :)

Here is my cute Grandma opening up the table runner!

I hope you have fun making this table runner for yourself or it would be a great gift too (my Grandparents LOVE it!).

Happy Friday! I'm excited to share more Christmas projects with this week's Fort Worth Friday Bundle: Merry & Bright! I love all the glitter in this fabric....it is absolutely beautiful!!! I couldn't quite decide on pillows or placemats so I made both :).  I used the Merry Gifts pattern in Sherri Falls Holiday Wishes book (which is on sale too).  Fun idea: this pattern also works great for birthday placemats too!

Supplies:

Placemats - 14.5" x 18.5":

  • Select fat quarters- one fat quarter is enough for background of one gift OR two bows and two ribbons
  • Make 1 Merry Gifts Block on page 3 for each placemat
  • Layer: - Top: Merry Gifts Block (right side up) - Middle: Batting - Bottom: Backing (right side down)
  • Quilt- if desired. I chose straight-line diagonal quilting
  • Attach 2.5" binding

Pillows - 12" x 14"

  • Select fat quarters- one fat quarter is enough for background of one gift OR two bow and two ribbons
  • Make 1 Merry Gifts Block on page 3 for each pillow
  • Layer: - Top: Merry Gifts Block (right side up) - Middle: Batting - Bottom: Scrap fabric (optional)
  • Quilt- if desired. I chose straight-line diagonal quilting
