Harry & Alice Geranium Dress

My friend Amanda's most recent fabric collection is Harry & Alice for Riley Blake Designs and it is gorgeous - her florals are perfect! I love mixing the large floral fabric as the main fabric for the dress plus a pattern pop with the polka dots for the collar and hem band.

My daughter loves her new Harry & Alice dress, which also happens to be her Christmas Dress!!! I've sewn her Christmas dresses the past 3 years! I like sewing them a bit longer so they last longer!

I also found the perfect red floral buttons for the back!  Plus I love how the collar wraps around to the back of the dress!

Geranium Dress with Flora and Fawn

I sewed another dress for my little one! She loves flowers and pink so it is perfect! Plus this fabric has me all heart eyes!

I love the sweet floral print from Amanda Herring's Flora and Fawn collection mixed with Riley Blake Gingham! Mixing prints for clothing is one of my favorites to do.  I also used my favorite Geranium Dress Pattern with Expansion Pack by Made by Rae- it is my "go to" dress pattern. 

My little one loves to help me sew. She even picked out the cutest flower buttons for the dress back, she was disappointed that I didn't sew them to the dress front ;).

I finished the dress just in time for Easter! We both love it ;) 

I sure love being on Amanda Herring's Creative Team! Her fabric is my style and I love it so much! I  received my fabric for her new Hello Lovely Collection and it is AMAZING! I wonder if I can request a bolt of each print???  I'm so excited to start sewing up my project for the Hello Lovely Blog Tour with Amanda and Riley Blake Designs!!!!

Hop Hop Dress with Wonderland Fabrics

I'm excited to share my most recent dress I made for my daughter with the fabulous Wonderland Fabrics!

I knew these fabrics would be perfect for a dress as my daughter loves bunnies! She calls this her Hop Hop dress :) The bunnies are adorable and easy for fussy cutting or centering in a pattern for clothing. I was also glad that the metallic gold fabric has a nice feel as it is the lining in the dress - not scratchy at all! 

Here is a fun little peek of the lining! The fabric is well designed as it is printed straightly so it lined up nicely, which made me so happy!

My daughter loves her Hop Hop dress! I know it will be worn lots as it is one of her favorites....plus it twirls!

I knew I needed to add a black and white strip to the bottom of the dress. This is an easy add-on to do for any pattern. I simply cut two 4" strips to match the width of the bottom of the dress. Then I ironed the striped fabric 1/2" under (to tuck under the raw edge) and pinned it to the bunny fabric -lining up the raw edges at the bottom.

Then it's time to topstitch to secure the striped panel to the main dress. Then just finish the dress/clothing per pattern instructions.

Just one final close up of the cute bunnies and pleats!

I can't wait to see what you create with the Wonderland Fabrics! It is such fantastic and well designed fabric! I am so pleased with the fabric quality (I did pre-wash as I was sewing clothing). The softness for 100% cotton and print patterns are great!
