Mackinac Island is designed by Minick & Simpson for Moda Fabrics and it's just lovely! The red, white, and blue fabrics will make the perfect Americana quilty project! Each charm pack contains (42) 5" squares and TWO Charm Packs were included in this month's Sew Sampler Box.

Meet in the Middle Exclusive Pattern, 80wt Aurifil Thread, Exclusive Half Hexagon Template, and Diagonal Seam Tape

I absolutely love the Diagonal Seam Tape by Cluck Cluck Sew - it makes sewing your 1/4" seam so easy! Plus it is so helpful when sewing 1/4" away from diagonal seams as you don't need to mark your fabric first - such a time saver! I can't wait to make the Meet in the Middle Tablerunner as I love hexagon quilts using the half hexagon acrylic template as no y-seams are involved!

I can't believe we are almost done with the Goodness Grows Quilt Along - the final block and finishing pattern release next month! I love love love orange peel blocks so this one was a favorite!

I chose to machine applique each orange peel shape with my Janome M7 and LOVE it!

I'm using Lollipop Garden by Lella Boutique to sew my Goodness Grows Quilt - I just LOVE this fabric! It is just the sweetest!

The Sew Sampler Box Membership is full, but don't worry - you can sign up for the waitlist AND most of the items in this month's box are available at Fat Quarter Shop - links above.

Moments Enchanted Stars Quilt

Hi Quilty Friends! I received the brand new Moments Collection designed by Minki Kim for Riley Blake Designs and it is absolutely beautiful! I matched the Moments Collection with Natural Linen for my Enchanted Stars Quilt! I love the texture of the linen plus the Riley Blake Designs Linen is easy to sew with.

I absolutely love making my Enchanted Stars Quilt as it can be made with fat quarters or 10" squares and is a nice lap size quilt ( 64.5" x 64.5" )! I love choosing the Enchanted Stars pattern because it has large stars so it's perfect for showing gorgeous fabric prints that you don't want to cut tiny.

Moments Collection has adorable drawings of a little town, dogs, florals, text, florals, and hexagon print plus the colors are beautiful. It is such a fabulous collection and will be available very soon at your favorite Quilt Shop.

Enchanted Stars Quilt
64.5" x 64.5"

Supplies:

I'm pretty sure sewing the scrappy stars is my absolute favorite part of the Enchanted Stars Pattern! I just love selecting the fabrics for each star.

Tip: Make sure when trimming your finished quilt (before binding) that you trim a bit more than 1/4" away from the points. This will give you sharp points that aren't hidden by your binding. Plus isn't the tiny floral fabric the BEST for binding- I LOVE it!

Just look at the crinkly texture - this quilt is totally ready to cuddle with!

I loved making my Enchanted Stars Quilt with the Moments Collection. The fabric is just perfect! I'm  thinking of my next project using up my scraps as I must use every little last piece of this fabric!

Are you going to make an Enchanted Stars Quilt with Moments or do you have another project planned????

Pillow Talk Pillow Fight - don't forget to VOTE!

It's time for Round 5 of the Pillow Talk Pillow Fight with Fat Quarter Shop AND Guess What?!?!?  It's my turn to participate!  I'm so excited to join in this super fun Pillow Fight with my friend Gina! (PS - if you need a quilt long armed - she's awesome)

Fat Quarter Shop is making the Pillow Talk Pillow Fight super fun by having everyone VOTE for their favorite pillow each week ....who will be the Pillow Fight Champion???

My Pillow: Ringer Bearer (18" x 18")

I chose to "compete" with the awesome Ring Bearer Pillow Pattern in the Pillow Talk Book and used the Ring Bearer kit because all the tiny petals are already cut and fused with the adhesive - wahoo!!! YES - all 78 pieces! The kits are a really good deal because they include the pillow front background fabric and all 78 tiny appliqué pieces cut and fused ---such a time saver!

I wanted to personalize my Ring Bearer Pillow --- so I embroidered "Family is Forever" in the middle. I LOVE it!  I used Kimberbell Happy Home for the "Family is Forever" so it was fun to stitch with my Janome 550E embroidery machine --- don't worry there is a sewing version too so you can hand embroider if you prefer!

Since the appliqué shapes were precut with fusible adhesive, I simply ironed the shapes to the pillow front based on the Ring Bearer Pattern in the Pillow Talk Book. Then I machine quilted with a stipple over the entire pillow front!

Supplies to make your own
Ring Bearer Pillow (click on links below)

If you watch Fat Quarter Shop Live Stream on Friday (YouTube) - you can "see" my Ring Bearer Pillow in  person as Kimberly will be sharing both Gina's and my pillow!

When my Ring Bearer Pillow returns from its Texas Travel it will be perfect for my living room!!! I'm going to remind my kiddos this pillow is decoration only ;)
