Rose Lane Buffalo Plaid / Gingham Quilt

I totally had to join in on the Buffalo Plaid / Gingham Quilt craze and I LOVE it! Patchwork squares are always a favorite of mine!

I used two of my favorite prints from the Rose Lane Collection by Beverly McCullough (Flamingo Toes) for  Riley Blake Designs mixed with Blossom Pink by Christopher Thompson for Riley Blake Designs.

It was difficult to choose just 2 Rose Lane prints because they all are so lovely - just look at the gorgeous florals!

Let's chat more about my Buffalo Plaid Quilt and how I made it!

My Rose Lane Buffalo Plaid Quilt is a generous lap size that finishes at 60.5" x 72.5" - perfect for picnics and snuggling on the couch plus easy to quilt on my home sewing machine!

Supplies:

There are a lot of tutorials online for buffalo plaid / gingham quilts - some use strip piecing and others simply just sew the squares together (my method).  I chose my block size based on AccuQuilt dies so I wouldn't have to hand cut so many squares plus I like the larger 6.5" size block to really show off the gorgeous fabrics!

After cutting the squares, I laid them out in my desired order and starting sewing with a 1/4" seam allowance. So easy and relaxing! Below is the layout I chose.

I absolutely loved making my Rose Lane Buffalo Plaid / Gingham Quilt. It is just the sweetest quilt! Plus I love the Riley Blake gingham backing fabric - a perfect match!

Rose Lane will be shipping to stores this month - yay! Both Blossom and Gingham are available now as they are Riley Blake Basics- hooray!

Have you made a Buffalo Plaid / Gingham quilt yet????? You totally need too :)

Have a great day and happy sewing!
