Prim & Proper Sew Along - Week 4

 

Hi Quilty Friends! Today we are sewing the Vintage Vase Block for the Prim & Proper Sew Along with Fat Quarter Shop! The Vintage Vase Block is large block that is fun to sew! 

I am SO EXCITED to make this quilt and I LOVE all things designed by Lori Holt! Be sure to keep reading for tips on making your block!

I'm making my Prim & Proper Quilt with mixed Lori Holt collections as I couldn't pick just one! Yay for scrappy sewing with Lori Holt Fabrics...here's a peek of the fabrics I will be using!

I love how all of Lori Holt's collections mix so well together plus Riley Blake Designs prints fabulous designs on quality fabric! Check out all of Lori Holt's fabrics available at Fat Quarter Shop (HERE).

Sewing Tips:

1. Use Alphabitties. They are so helpful in keeping your fabrics organized!

2. Use pins so your points match up. Magic Pins are my favorite!

3. Follow the block pressing instructions so your seams will match on the top part of the vase.

3. Save the C / D trimmed off triangles. Sew the triangles together and make scrappy half square triangles. I trimmed mine to 5" and added them to my Lori Holt scrap bin! I used a Bloc-loc ruler for trimming for perfect half-square triangles!
