Hi Quilty Friends! Today I'm sharing the Tip Top Quilt featuring the Homemade Collection designed by Echo Park Paper Company for Riley Blake Designs. Plus keep reading for my bonus pillow made of scraps!

The Homemade Fabric Collection is the perfect late summer /early fall collection with lovely florals, bumble bees, and gingham prints in coral, sage, sunshine, and forest colors. The prints coordinate so wonderfully.

I chose to make the Tip Top Quilt because I wanted a quilt pattern that showcased the fabric colors so well! The Tip Top Quilt is a beginner friendly pattern that uses 2.5" Rolie Polie Strips and a bit of background fabric.

The Tip Top Quilt Pattern size can be easily adjusted as it is a block based quilt. You can choose to make more or additional blocks for a larger or smaller quilt. Or add a border using your favorite print from the Homemade Collection to easily enlarge your quilt.

Scrappy Bonus Project .....Patchwork Pillow

After I made my Tip Top Quilt ... I was able to cut 2.5" x 2.5" squares from my scraps and make a matching patchwork pillow! I used (64) 2.5" squares for a 16" pillow.

I love sewing a coordinating pillow with my scraps!

Hi Quilty friends! It's almost time for Christmas in July so today I’m sharing the In the Fields Quilt, a free pattern, featuring The Magic of Christmas fabric collection designed by Lori Whitlock for Riley Blake Designs. This brand new Christmas collection is so happy and festive!

The Magic of Christmas Fabric + Patchwork = Classic Christmas Quilt!

Patchwork Quilts are a favorite of mine for decor, to use, and make! Sewing together 5" squares of Christmas fabrics makes me so happy - just add a Christmas movie or music and you can be festive in the summer too! PS - Patchwork quilts are perfect for beginner quilters too!

4 yards Backing Fabric OR keep on reading for my scrappy backing : The Magic of Christmas designed by Lori Whitlock for Riley Blake Designs

I chose to arrange my (208) 5" squares into 13 columns and 16 rows with a color gradient of .... white low volume, red, green, then black mixed with dark green. I absolutely love it!

The In the Fields Quilt uses (208) 5" squares so you can use 5" Stackers for a quick, no-cut method OR you can cut 5" squares from a bundle or yardage (this is what I did).

Options for easily cutting 5" Squares:

I love a striped binding and The Magic of Christmas striped print has the stripe printed on the bias, which makes me extra happy.

Originally, I planned to make a different quilt pattern with The Magic of Christmas Collection so I ordered my favorite Jar Print in red for a border. But when the fabric arrived, I changed plans and made the In the Fields Patchwork Quilt and used my border print and left over fabric to make my quilt reversible. I love a double-sided quilt!
