Chain of Stars Quilt - Cookbook
Hi Quilty Friends! Today is about cooking and quilting with a retro twist. I received the new Cook Book Collection designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The prints are so fun and may remind you of your mom and/or grandma! Plus look at all the low volume prints in this collection!
It was hard for me to decide which quilt pattern I wanted to sew as Cook Book Collection is fabulous for so many patterns. I actually changed my mind when I received the fabric and chose to make Chain of Stars Quilt because it's the perfect pattern to use lots of prints including the low volume prints included in the collection!
- Chain of Stars Quilt Pattern available on Etsy Pattern Shop (here) OR PayHip Pattern Shop (here)
- (42) 10" Squares - I would recommend having a few extra 10" squares or fat quarters so your blocks don't blend too much with the low volume background fabric. Cook Book designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs
- 2.75 yards Background (same fabric for A and F in the pattern)
Scrappy Low Volume Background1.75 yards of ONE low volume print for backgrounds of the Stars (Label A in pattern) - Cook Book Cloud Cherry Turn Over designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake DesignsAND 1 yard total of various Cook Book Low Volume prints designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs for Uneven Nine Patch Blocks (Label F in pattern)
- 0.5 yard Binding - Bee Basics Tiny Daisy Red designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs
- 4 yards Backing - Bee Basics Tiny Daisy Red designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs
- 1 yard Outer Border - Cook Book Cayenne Floral designed by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs
- Choose one yard of your favorite print - mine is: Cook Book Cayenne Floral.
- Cut (7) 4" x WOF strips
- Sew strips together to form one very long narrow strip
- Measure quilt length. Example Quilt Length of 63.5"*. Cut (2) outer border strips 4" x 63.5"*. Sew (1) outer border strip to right side of quilt and (1) outer border strip to left side of quilt.
- Measure quilt width. Example Quilt Width of 61"*. Cut (2) outer border strips 4" x 61"*. Sew (1) outer border stripe to top of quilt and (1) outer border strip to bottom of quilt.
