Chain of Stars with Harvest Road

Hi Quilty Friends! Today I'm sharing my Chain of Stars Quilt - Harvest Road edition! I am absolutely in LOVE with it! I love making my Chain of Stars pattern as it uses the full 10" Layer Cake / Stacker - no waste here! Plus this time...I added a scrappy border with some Harvest Road fabric from my stash (I may have purchased a lot of this collection ;) ). Keep reading to learn how I made my scrappy border.

Do you want to make your own Chain of Stars Quilt - Harvest Road? It's the perfect quilt for your home! Plus most of us are spending a lot of time home and I find quilting to be relaxing and I love making my quilts for my family!

Let's chat about the Chain of Stars Quilt supplies -

Guess what - the Harvest Road - Nature is my Home - digital panel is the perfect backing!!! Now I have a reversible quilt!!!

Note: I would not add the extra border if you like your backing to be larger when quilting. But I don't mind having just 1/2-1" inch larger backing on all sides as I quilt my own quilts.

Chain of Stars: (no border) 54.5" x 63.5 (border) 58.5" x 67.5"
Nature is my Home digital panel: Moda states 57" x 68" - but it's actually a bit larger to allow for trimming down to that size so it fit my quilt perfectly!

OPTIONAL Border: Since my panel was actually a bit larger than stated by Moda and I wanted to use it all.... my Harvest Road Jolly Bar (5" x10") came to the rescue! Plus it was super simple! After piecing the Chain of Stars Quilt top. I cut (13) Harvest Road Jolly Bars into (26) 2.5" x 9.5" rectangles and (1) Harvest Road Jolly Bar in to (4) 2.5"x 2.5" squares. I sewed the 2.5" x 9.5" rectangles to the outside of the quilt blocks and used the 2.5" squares for the corners.

I also like to quilt my own quilts on my home machine -I have a Janome M7 and LOVE it! Stippling is my favorite. Quilting your own quilts is also good for the budget plus then you can use the saved money on more fabric )

Did you know - the stars in the Chain of Stars pattern are "no point matching stars" so they are super to easy sew and look fabulous!

I'm ready to make another Chain of Stars Quilt! Luckily I have quite a few 10" Layer Cakes in my stash!!!! Don't forget to grab your Chain of Stars Quilt Pattern HERE.
