I love making baby quilts because it combines two of my favorites: babies and quilts!!! My sweet friend is expecting her first baby and she is decorating the nursery with a calm ocean theme. I knew my special Coral Queen of Sea fabric would be perfect! Plus I was able to fussy cut mermaids and narwhals :).
Coral Queen of the Sea is out of print and I only had a little bit left so I mixed in some Reef prints. The combination was perfect for Elizabeth Hartman's Charm Squares Quilt Pattern. I love the modern and classic look of this quilt!
Supplies:
- (38) 5" squares - Coral Queen of the Sea by Stacy Iset Hsu and Reef by Elizabeth Hartman
- 5/8" yard sashing fabric - American Made Brand Pink
- 3/8" yard binding - Hello Darling Stripe by Bonnie & Camille
- 1 1/4 yard backing - Riley Blake Bake Sale Gingham by Lori Holt
- Charm Squares Quilt Pattern (free) by Elizabeth Hartman
I didn't have 5" squares so I used my AccuQuilt Qube Mix 9" Finished Block - (GO! Square 5" die) to cut my fabric squares, which made cutting super quick!
I've already gifted this Charm Squares Quilt to my friend and I can't wait to meet her cute baby soon!

What a beautiful quilt for a sweet new babe! It's perfect for the fussy cutting and those smaller scraps of favorite fabrics. Love your choice of binding and backing fabrics too!
