Hi friends! I'm so excited to share my finished Moonbeams Quilt today!!!! I absolutely LOVE it! I'm so grateful that I was able to quilt along with Fat Quarter Shop for the 2024 Charity Quilt Along.
Moonbeams Quilt finishes at 68.5" x 80.5" .... a large comfy size! I love the sampler style of the Moonbeams Quilt. It's fun to make different blocks -plus you can choose your favorites and make your quilt a bit different!
Keep on reading for more information on where to download this FREE pattern, plus how I made my final Moonbeams Quilt a bit different from the original pattern, and tips for all your perfect points! PS - I took sooooo many photos :)

Quilt Layout Change:
I changed the layout of my quilt by substituting the dove blocks with an extra (1) Wishing Star Block and (1) Friendship Star Block. It is an easy change as the blocks are the same size! Original Moonbeams Quilt below:
Tips for perfect blocks made easy!
The Moonbeams Quilt has many half-square triangle blocks, square in a square blocks, quarter square triangles, and flying geese blocks - which often involve trimming.
- I use my AccuQuilt GO! Qubes to create the quarter square triangles, half square triangles, and flying geese as the blocks are perfect without trimming or waste.
- Friendship Star: AccuQuilt GO! 6" Mix and Match Qube
- Wishing Star: AccuQuilt GO! 10" Mix and Match Qube (shape A and L) and AccuQuilt GO! 5" Mix and Match Qube (all other shapes in block)
- Square in a square blocks (border) : AccuQuilt GO! 8" Mix and Match Qube
- Tree of Life Blocks: AccuQuilt GO! 4" Mix and Match Qube
- Peace & Plenty Blocks: AccuQuilt GO! 12" Mix & Match Qube
- Moonbeams Ohio Star: AccuQuilt GO! 3.5" unfinished (3" finished) quarter square triangle die
- OR Moonbeams Foundation Paper Kit
- OR Bloc-loc half-square triangle ruler
I quilted my Moonbeams Quilt using my Janome M17 embroidery machine with pattern: Kimberbell Stars 9 Background Quilting. Did you know that you can use your home embroidery machine to finish your quilt so it looks you had it finished with a long-arm!
