Moonbeams Charity Quilt and Stitch along: Release 4

 Wishing Star and Friendship Star Blocks

It's time for Release 4 of the  Fat Quarter Shop  Moonbeams Charity Quilt and Stitch Along. Fat Quarter Shop generously releases both the quilt and cross stitch patterns for free each month and would appreciate a donation to the Make-A-Wish of Central and South Texas.

--- Moonbeams: Friendship Star Blocks ---

This month we are making (2) Moonbeams Friendship Star Blocks (pattern here).  I actually made (3) blocks as I am replacing one dove block with another Friendship Star Block. 

Fat Quarter Shop has Moonbeams Quilt Kits available with Strawberry Lemonade fabric by Sherri & Chelsi...it's super cute! 

As it's fun to see different version of the Moonbeams Quilt,  I'm quilting with Old Glory by Lella Boutique. (also available at Fat Quarter Shop)

--- Moonbeams: Wishing Star Blocks ---

This month we are making (2) Moonbeams Wishing Star Blocks (pattern here).  I actually made (3) blocks as I am replacing one dove block with another Friendship Star Block. 

Quarter Square Triangles, Half Square Triangles, and Flying Geese Tips for perfect blocks: 

• I use my AccuQuilt GO! Qubes to create the quarter square triangles, half square triangles, and flying geese as the blocks are perfect without trimming or waste. 
• Friendship Star: AccuQuilt GO! 6" Mix and Match Qube 
• Wishing Star: AccuQuilt GO! 10" Mix and Match Qube (shape A and L) and AccuQuilt GO! 5" Mix and Match Qube (all other shapes in block)
• OR  Moonbeams Foundation Paper Kit
• OR Bloc-loc half-square triangle ruler

---Moonbeams Charity Cross Stitch Along---

You may have noticed, my project looks a lot different from the original Moonbeams Charity Stitch. Instead of stitching the Moonbeams as one large project, I'm going to stitch the motifs separately and make a coordinating pillow each month!  

This sweet pillow is 4" x 4" and so cute! It will be perfect for Patriotic decor! It's so fun how much different a pattern can look when you change the colors.  This stitched piece matches the Friendship Star Block!
