Hi Quilting friends! I’m excited to share my Echo Pillow (featuring the Echo Quilt Pattern) with the magical Fairy Dust Collection designed by Ashley Collett.
The Fairy Dust Collection is full or unicorns, fairies, floral prints, and rainbows ... it's just so lovely!
I love sewing one block from a quilt pattern and making a pillow! This is a great way to "sample" the quilt and your fabric selection.I chose to use the Echo Quilt Pattern as I was able to use 5 different Fairy Dust prints plus fussy cut the Unicorn for the block center!
Echo Pillow 18.5" x 18.5"
- Echo Quilt Pattern - PayHip Pattern Shop or Etsy
- Pillow Front- Echo Block and Border: (5) Fat Quarters of Fairy Dust Collection
- Pillow Backing: 3/4 yard of Fairy Dust Collection
- 20" or 22" Nylon Zipper
- 18" x 18" Pillow Form
Optional: AccuQuilt GO! Qube Mix & Match
I love using my AccuQuilt dies for perfectly cut blocks quickly with no trimming!
One Echo Block requires:
Color 1 (unicorn): (1) F
Color 2 (pink floral): (2) C, (4) D, (4) E
Color 3 (green floral): (2) C, (4) E
Color 4 (floral background): (8) A, (16) B
Color 5 (pink outer border): (2) strips 3.5" x 12.5" and (2) strips 3.5" x 18.5"
Add a border:
The Echo Quilt Block finishes at 12" x 12" so I simply cut my outer borders strips 3.5" wide to create the 18.5" x 18.5" pillow. I really love the softness the added border creates.
- Outer Border strips cut sizes: (2) strips 3.5" x 12.5" and (2) strips 3.5" x 18.5"
Choosing to add the zipper to the bottom of the pillow cover creates a reversible pillow! Plus this is a quick option for finishing your pillow! Check out my tutorial here.
