Just Makin' It Cute - Heart's Delight

It's time for the Makin' It Cute - Heart's Delight Remix with Fat Quarter Shop!

Have you seen the cute Makin' It Cute templates by Me and My Sister's Design - Heart's Delight, Petal Pack, Butterfly Bliss, and Smitten for Mittens. The reusable plastic shaped templates  are perfect to embellish quilts, bags, scrapbooking projects, even headbands and apparel. They are great to use individually or layered together.

I chose to use the three smallest templates from Makin' It Cute - Heart's Delight with Badda Bing fabric to sew my daughter a cross-body bag.

Woodland Wander Chain of Stars Quilt

I'm sooooo excited to share my Chain of Stars Quilt with Woodland Wander by Clothworks and AMB Solids fabrics! I loooove this quilt so much!!! This quilt has it all - Stars, Fussy Cut blocks with the cutest woodland animals, and purple!!!

Just look at the cute little woodland critters.

Plus these easy Star Blocks will always have points so you don't have to worry about loosing them when sewing the blocks together...yay!

Let's chat more about my newest pattern - Chain of Stars!

Chain of Stars is beginner friendly that uses a full Layer Cake...yes all (42) 10" squares! Yay for using ALL the fabric! Or you can use larger cuts of fabric and fussy cut your center blocks OR make it totally scrappy! All fabric pieces are labeled to make assembly super easy!

Chain of Stars is lap size quilt that finishes 54.5" x 63.5". But you can easily make it larger or smaller by making more or less blocks!!!

Quilt Supplies

Woodland Wander is designed by Rebecca Jones for Clothworks. I love Rebecca's illustrations! The fabrics in Woodland Wander are adorable - full of  bunnies, squirrels, hedgehogs, frogs, fireflies, birds, and textured solid prints.

I used American Made Brand Fabric solid white for my quilt background and LOVE it! Know what is super cool....American Made Brand Fabric is MADE in the USA. American Made Brand 100% cotton fabric is grown, spun, woven and dyed in America!!! So awesome!!! It is available in 75 colors and can be purchased at fabric shops including Fat Quarter Shop! I think I need to make an AMB solid quilt very soon!!!

I looooove the fabric I chose for the backing....it's seriously the cutest with all the animals! It would make the most adorable whole cloth quilt too!!! Since the fabric is directional - you will need 4 yards of fabric for this quilt if you want those cute animals standing upright on your quilt back ;).

For the binding, I chose the sweet lilac and mint floral print -- it's gorgeous!!!

I just looooved sewing with Woodland Wander fabric - it just made me feel so happy. Since I wanted to keep sewing with the Woodland Wander fabric,  I already started my Layered Cake Quilt pattern with the coordinating panel...I can't wait to finish it and share!

Don't forget- you can purchase your Chain of Stars Pattern here for $5.00.

I'm so excited to see your Chain of Stars Quilts!!! Be sure to tag me so I don't miss them!!! #ChainofStarsQuilt #ABitofScrapStuffPattern

I Heart You Table Runner

I'm loving my new I Heart You Table Runner!!! After we put away all of our Christmas decorations - our home looked so plain! We decided to put out our Valentine's Day decorations and my previous table runner was getting worn - so I needed to sew a new one!

I went through my Bonnie & Camille fabric stash and pulled red and pink fabrics from The Good Life, Little Ruby, and Hello Darling collections and the Navy Bouquet floral from Smitten for the background. I LOVE it!

Supplies

Making the I Heart You Table Runner

I made 3 Heart blocks from the I Heart You Quilt pattern and kept the block borders the same. I did make the top and bottom borders a bit thinner because I didn't have enough fabric ;). Of course Bonnie & Camille red bias stripe fabric was perfect for the binding!

I had sew much fun sewing my I Heart You Table Runner that I'm making the full quilt too! I love sewing happy hearts with happy fabric!!!

Have a great day and happy sewing!

Pineapple and Floral Zipper Pouch Fun - ADORNit fabrics

So if you follow me on Instagram - you may have noticed I LOVE making zipper pouches!!!! Both of these pouches are my own pattern, which means I made up the dimensions as I sewed ;).

First up is the Pineapple Zipper Pouch.
Happy colored pineapple fabric is just what is needed during winter time!!!

I always like using a bright zipper for my pouches...so happy! Plus the added tassel...yes!!! The pineapple fabric was also a must for the lining.

Chica Blooms iPad Mini Case

The Chica Blooms ADORNit fabric is one of my most favorite fabrics---those gorgeous florals!!! It also matches perfect with the Jumbo Stripe and Burnish!

Plus I had enough Chica Blooms fabric for the lining too!

So Much More Needlebook - Maxie Mail December Box

I loved the December Maxie Mail Box!!!! The So Much More Needlebook is perfect and holds all of your sewing essentials perfectly - plus it is totally cute!!! The So Much More Needlebook can be sewn in an evening - be sure to watch Maxie's video for helpful sewing hints! I always watch the video first before I start. Then I watch the video again while I am sewing the project and pause it until I've reached the next step. I find Maxie's videos soooooo helpful!

Let's chat more about the December Maxie Mail Box-

EVERYTHING is included in your December Maxie Mail Box to make the So Much More Needlbook (including scissors and a hummingbird needle threader to place inside) PLUS a full video tutorial. So don't worry if this your first time sewing a needlebook---Maxie makes it easy!

What's included:
  • So Much More Needlebook Pattern AND video by Maxie
  • Outer and lining fabric, by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery Fabrics -love the scissors print
  • Pocket and binding fabric, by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics
  • Fusible Batting from Quilters Dream Batting
  • Decor Bond Fusible Interfacing
  • National Non-woven’s Woolfelt
  • Gutermann Cotton Thread
  • Super Cute Embroidery Scissors
  • Dritz Fray Check
  • Dritz Hummingbird Needle Threader - so cute
  • Riley Blake Ribbon
  • Silk Yarn
  • Cotton Elastic

Quilting Tips -

- Use your walking or dual feed foot. I used my walking/dual feed foot to assemble, quilt, and bind my So Much More Needlebook.

- I followed Maxie's suggestion and did straight-line quilting for my So Much More Needlebook. The fabric pattern is spaced perfectly for 1/2" quilting - which made me so happy. I used a Clover Hera Marker to mark the 1/2" quilting lines because I love a straight-line! The thread Maxie included is a perfect match too!

- When attaching the ribbon, yarn, felt, and elastic, stitch them down using the same lines you did your machine quilting. This way the extra stitched lines will look invisible!!!

- I would recommend adding the binding. The binding "hides" all the stop and start threads at the top and bottom of the Needlebook so it looks so nice! If you prefer not to add the binding - I would use a scrap fabric to sew first and then "chain piece" the Needlebook for the quilting so you don't get thread build-up on the actual Needlebook.

Let's peek inside my So Much More Needlebook -

Your So Much More Needlebook holds all the sewing essentials without being bulky so perfectly! I have mine right by sewing machine. It's also perfect to place in my purse if I'm doing some English Paper Peicing on the go!

Don't worry - you can still order the December Box and sew yourself a So Much More Needlebook. You will LOVE it!

I enjoy receiving my Maxie Mail Subscription Box each month! I love how she always teaches us a new technique and includes the supplies to make the project! It is truly a "class in a box". They are great for anyone who loves sewing and quilting! I love how I can take a class right in my home! Plus the projects are always useful and beautiful!
