Sunrise Quilt - Enchanted Meadows

Hi Quilty Friends! I'm excited to share my Sunrise Quilt with the gorgeous Enchanted Meadow Fabric Collection designed by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs. Once I saw all the cute woodland animals - I knew this collection would need a quilt pattern with large blocks so the fabric would shine. My Sunrise Quilt Pattern is the perfect match!

I'm often asked how I achieve matching points in my quilts. My quilting secret is the Riley Blake Designs Quilter's or Tailor's Clapper for pressing plus I use my AccuQuilt GO! dies for cutting perfect pieces.

Sunrise Quilt pattern is written for traditional rotary cutting and sewing - but I also share the AccuQuilt Die Sizes if you are an AccuQuilt fan too ;). 

Sunrise Quilt with border 77" x 77"

Supplies:

• Sunrise Quilt PDF Pattern - PayHip Pattern Shop or Etsy
• 18 Fat Quarters - Enchanted Meadows designed by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs
• 2 yards Background - Confetti Cottons Bleached Denim by Riley Blake Designs
• 2.5 yards Sashing and Block -  Enchanted Meadows Boquet Vintage White designed by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs
• 0.75 yard Binding -  Enchanted Meadows Main Songbird designed by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs
• 1.5 yards Border -  Enchanted Meadows Forest Friends Denim designed by Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs
• 5 yards Backing

Optional

• Bloc-loc half square triangle for block trimming OR
• AccuQuilt GO! 12" Qube

For perfectly sized half-square triangles - I recommend trimming your blocks with a Bloc-loc half-square triangle ruler OR using the appropriately sized AccuQuilt Die. Having perfectly sized blocks makes piecing your quilt so much easier!

I loved selecting two coordinating Enchanted Meadow prints for each Sunrise Quilt block. My favorite print is the Enchanted Meadows Forest Animals print...I absolutely love the cute critters. Plus I love that I can fussy cut the center of the Sunrise Blocks, which is perfect for focusing your favorite bits of fabric. Fussy Cutting Tips - on my blog here.

I chose to add a border to my Sunrise Quilt because I love love love the Enchanted Meadow Forest Animal print ... the deer, fox, rabbit, hedgehog, and florals are just too cute! Adding a border to your quilt is the perfect way to show your favorite print AND make your quilt larger for cuddling with! 

OPTIONAL Outer Border Instructions

The original Sunrise Quilt doesn't have a border, but adding an outer border is super easy! 

• Choose 1.5 yards of your favorite print - mine is: 
• Cut (8) 5.5" x WOF strips
• Sew strips together to form one very long narrow strip
• Measure quilt length. Example Quilt Length of 66.5"*. Cut (2) outer border strips 5.5" x 66.5"*. Sew (1) outer border strip to right side of quilt and (1) outer border strip to left side of quilt.
• Measure quilt width. Example Quilt Width of 77"*. Cut (2) outer border strips 5.5" x 77"*. Sew (1) outer border stripe to top of quilt and (1) outer border strip to bottom of quilt.

* Cut your border strips to the measured length and width of your quilt.

Binding Cutting Instructions if adding Border:

• Cut (8) 2.5" x WOF of binding fabric.

I'm definitely ready for spring as my Enchanted Meadow Sunrise Quilt is perfect for picnics!
