Hillside Tote - Poppy and Posey

Happy April 1st ... no tricks here today. I'm excited to share my latest project! I made myself a Hillside Tote by Noodlehead with the gorgeous Poppy and Posey fabric collection designed by Dodi Lee Poulsen for Riley Blake Designs. 

When the Main Amethyst Print from Poppy and Posey arrived - I knew the florals needed to be made into a Hillside Tote. I'm totally wishing I had ordered extra yardage because it's sooooo gorgeous. 

I really loved making the Hillside Tote as I love the adjustable cross body strap plus the top zipper closure.  I think my Poppy and Posey version is so perfect for spring!

This was my first time installing a large metal snap and it was so easy! I will definitely be adding more snaps to my projects....which is good as I bought THIS set from Amazon, which includes the installation tools and 75 snaps.  As this is the large 15mm snap, next time I will add a bit of fusible fleece between the fabric layers (around the snap) to help support the fabric as I used quilting cotton. 

 

I chose a light color print from the Posey and Poppy Collection for the bag lining. I prefer my bag linings to have a lighter color fabric as I feel it is easier to find items in my bag. 

 

The back of the Hillside Tote is very similar to the front except I sewed a divided pocket instead of a large pocket with snap closure.

I absolutely LOVE my new Hillside Tote - Poppy and Posey edition!
