I'm so excited to share the FREE Lucky Charm Mini Quilt Pattern I wrote for Sulky (here). I was asked to create a mini quilt for St.Patrick's Day using the gorgeous Sulky PolyStar Thread. I LOVE this Luck of The Irish Poly Star 6 pack of thread - it is metallic flecked thread that is SO EASY to machine embroider or sew with and it SHIMMERS!
The Lucky Charm Mini Quilt finishes at 16.5" x 16.5" .... perfect for wall decor or table topper or add a zippered or envelope backing for a pillow! Time to gather up supplies and keep reading for project tips!

Project Making Tips:
- Make sure you download the FREE Lucky Charm Mini Quilt Pattern HERE for the full instructions!
- Insert a new needle. I prefer Organ Titanium 90/14 when machine embroidering with PolyStar Thread. A larger needle is recommend as PolyStar is a 30wt thread.
- Check the speed on your embroidery machine. I did not have any thread breakage when stitching out the design with the default speed of 600spm on my Janome 550E.
- Refer to pattern if you want to use my exact thread choices for each machine embroidery step.
I chose to free motion quilt with Sulky Blendables 30wt #4085 and Organ Titanium 100/16 needle. Since I free motion quilt on full speed – I do find a drop of Sewers Aid on my needle reduces thread breakage. I do not need Sewers Aid when straight-line quilting with my walking foot.
- If you prefer a pillow – just add a zippered or envelope backing!
