Merry Little Christmas - Park Quilt

Hello! Don't worry .... it's not December yet, but today I'm sharing the cutest Christmas Collection - Merry Little Christmas designed by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs. I just love all the whimsical illustrations and the panel is AMAZING! 

I chose to make my Park Quilt with Merry Little Christmas because the blocks are perfect for showing the wonderful whimsy illustrations! (Pattern here). 

The Park Quilt Pattern is perfect for beginner quilters as the quilt blocks are only squares - no tricky piecing! The Park Quilt Pattern gives traditional cutting instructions, but it is easily adaptable to use with your AccuQuilt GO! Mix & Match 8" Block Qube.

Don't forget - you can fussy cut the squares too ;).  I love choosing my favorite illustrations for the larger squares. Park Quilt is a 10" square friendly pattern so if you might want a few fat quarters of your favorite print depending on how much fussy cutting you want to do.

• (2) yards Background - Pin Dot Christmas by Riley Blake Designs
• 1 yard of Border fabric - I used 1.5 yards so I could make sure the fabric print was facing the correct direction.  Merry Little Christmas Main Red designed by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs
• 0.625 yards Binding - Merry Little Christmas Plaid Cream designed by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs
• 4 yards Backing 
• OPTIONAL Pieced Backing - Merry Little Christmas Panel Cream and assorted 1/4 yard cuts designed by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs

NOTE: I chose to cut my outer border strips at 5" because it worked well with the illustrations on fabric.

I LOVE it so much!!! The Merry Little Christmas Panel is just too cute!!! Plus my quilt is totally reversible now!

You could fussy cut each of those cute houses .... they are too adorable!!!

To make my pieced backing - I cut all my fabric into 6" and 3" strips. Next I sewed them together and attached the strips to the sides of the panel and trimmed to size. I love the scrappy look!!!! 

I absolutely loved making my Merry Little Christmas - Park Quilt! I love the whimsical illustrations - they are so happy!
