Hello! Today I'm excited to share my Miscellany Quilt that I made with the February 2019 Cotton + Steel Quarterly Booster Club bundle from Fat Quarter Shop! I absolutely love it!

I love these fun and fabulous fabrics - who knew toads could be so cute?!?!?
The Miscellany Quilt pattern is included with the February 2019 Cotton + Steel Quarterly Booster Club bundle! The Miscellany blocks are large and really show off this amazing fabric! I love a big block quilt! Miscellany is a twin size quilt and finishes at 60.5"x 79.5"! The bundle includes all the fat quarters needed to make the quilt top and a scrappy binding- just add background fabric!

Ruby Star Society Quarterly Club-
The original Cotton + Steel designers are now designing as Ruby Star Society for Moda Fabrics soooooo Fat Quarter Shop will be changing the club to the Ruby Star Society Quarterly Club in August when their brand new collections ship!!! I'm so excited!!!! The Fat Quarter Shop team will choose 14 fabulous fat quarters (yes - that's more than the previous club) from the latest Ruby Star Collection plus an exclusive pattern to match the fat quarters! I can't wait for August! You can read more about Ruby Star Society Quarterly Club and sign up to join HERE.
I just loved using the included Sulky Thread to machine quilt my Miscellany Quilt! The thread color popped so nicely from the background fabric! The thread quality was awesome too - I'm usually an Aurifil gal, but Sulky was fabulous too. I did use most of the included spool to machine quilt and bind my quilt - so I would suggest using a different thread to piece your quilt so you don't run out of thread mid-quilting (or purchase an extra spool ;) ).
For my quilt backing - I selected 15 Cotton + Steel fat quarters from my stash and pieced them together! I love a double sided quilt plus I used my stash. The more stash I use - the more space I have for new fabric ;) !

Beautiful quilt - and just love, love the pieced backing you did!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I like your backing fabric. I probably would have gone with a lighter background so your choice reminds me of all the options I should consider when using lighter fabrics. I also love your backing.
ReplyDeleteThese patterns are beautiful. Awesome post. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteLove this bundle!
ReplyDeleteI love the backing you made. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that pieced backing. I have only done that once and mine turned out crooked but I am pretty inexperienced so for now, one piece backing are the way for me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt!!!!
