Heading South Quilt with Round Elements Fabric

I'm so excited to share my Heading South Quilt (all 115 flying geese :) ) with  Art Gallery Round Elements. When Afton, from Quilting Mod, announced the challenge and lovely fabric....I jumped at the chance to join in!

This is the bundle that Afton sent me...I just LOVE it! The colors are perfect! Plus Art Gallery Fabric always feels so nice!

I knew I wanted to use every last piece....and with very careful cutting.....I did! I had a flying geese ruler and the Heading South Pattern by Material Girl Quilts that I've been wanting to try....so here are my triangles for the 115 flying geese.

I was trying to decide between straight-line or wavy-line quilting...wavy quilting won! I always think I will quilt my lines farther apart, but then I just can't. I just love the crinkly look when quilting closer.

I was super excited to find the perfect backing fabric. It is Follow Me Peach from the Hello Bear Collection by Art Gallery....it's looks just like flying geese!

Thank you again to Afton for hosting such a fun challenge and for sending me the F8 bundle with goodies!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Melanie
